Trends reshaping B2B marketing, and how businesses can benefit

    by Becca

    2 minute read

    marketing strategy

B2B marketing is changing fast, and it’s no longer about sending emails or posting and sending LinkedIn requests. The businesses that thrive are the ones that understand where the market is going and invest in smart, strategic marketing to attract and retain clients.

We’ve seen firsthand how the right marketing strategy can turn a good business into a market leader. We are outlining some of the key trends reshaping B2B marketing, and why working with an agency can give your business a real edge.

AI-Powered marketing helps you work smarter

Artificial intelligence isn’t just for tech companies; it’s a tool that lets businesses operate more efficiently. AI can help you understand what your clients want, personalise messaging, and predict opportunities before competitors.

Partnering with an agency means you get AI insights without the headache of managing it yourself. We handle the tech, strategy, and creativity, so you can focus on your core business.

Reaching buyers at the right time

Knowing your audience is one thing, connecting with them when they’re ready to buy is another. Modern B2B marketing uses intent data to understand which businesses are actively looking for solutions like yours. An agency can turn this insight into action, targeted campaigns, personalised messaging, and timely outreach that turns prospects into clients.

Building trust through community and connection

Today’s buyers value relationships. They want to see expertise, proof and engagement, not just another sales pitch. B2B communities, LinkedIn groups, and interactive content allow your business to build credibility and trust with prospective clients.

With an agency, you gain a team that knows exactly how to create and manage these connections strategically, ensuring your business is visible and respected where it matters most.

    Showcasing your expertise through video

Video isn’t just for social media influencers; it’s a powerful tool for businesses to demonstrate solutions, explain complex ideas, and humanise your brand. From case studies to behind-the-scenes content, agencies can produce high-quality videos/reels that position your business as an authority. Helping clients to see why they should work with you.

    Content that actually drives growth

Every business creates content, but sadly,  not all content creates results. Strategic content, like toolkits, playbooks, or calculators, educates your clients and helps to move them closer to a decision. An agency helps your business turn content into a revenue driver, measuring engagement and ensuring every campaign delivers measurable growth.

    Human-centred marketing does win clients

At the end of the day, people buy from people. Your team, your story, and your expertise are some of your strongest assets. Agencies can help bring these stories to life, presenting your business authentically and consistently to attract clients who value what you offer.

    Why partner with an agency?

Trends are changing fast, and staying ahead does take time, expertise, and creativity. Working alongside a marketing agency gives your business:

    • Expert guidance on the latest trends and best practices
    • Strategic campaigns designed to generate real leads and clients
    • Creative execution that saves you time and resources
    • Results you can measure, not just likes or clicks.

In short, partnering with an agency helps your business grow smarter, reach the right clients, and stand out in a crowded marketplace.

Ready to grow your B2B business with a marketing partner who gets results? Let’s talk!

Marketing predictions for 2026: What businesses need to know!

    by Becca

    3 minute read

Laptop open with computer code written on the screen.

With new tools, shifting customer behaviour and more competition for attention than ever, 2026 is already shaping up to be a pivotal year for small and midsize businesses.

So, as a digital marketing agency that partners with local SMEs every day, we’ve rounded up the five biggest marketing trends that we believe you should have on your radar, and how you can make them work hard for your business.

    AI goes mainstream

AI is no longer an optional extra; it is becoming part of everyday business operations, especially in marketing. The good news is that AI levels the playing field between small businesses and big brands.

You can use AI to personalise customer interactions without spending hours manually segmenting your audience, automate repetitive tasks, freeing you up for growth-focused work, and speed up content creation, like ad copy.

AI doesn’t replace your voice; it amplifies your ability to show up consistently and professionally.

Short-form video and interactive content take the lead

Short form, vertical video is now the king of social content, from Instagram, LinkedIn, to TikTok, but you don’t need a massive production budget, a huge studio or loads of time. As long as you have a smartphone and a spare 10 minutes, you can create informative, fun and knowledgeable content to share with your community, existing and prospective customers.

How can it work for you?

    • Quick product demos
    • Behind-the-scenes
    • Customer stories
    • FAQs
    • Live videos or live webinars

Video lets both your personality and your brand personality shine, and that’s what customers really want to connect with.

    SEO shifts to “Answer Engines”

With AI-driven search becoming the norm (missed our blog about AI Overviews? Catch up here!), customers are asking direct questions and expecting instant answers. For local businesses, this means:

    • Ensuring your content is clear, helpful and question-focused.
    • Keeping your business details consistent across Google and other online directories.
    • Building content that shows your expertise.

If you answer questions well, you’re more likely to be found, even in an AI-first search world.

Privacy matters, and first-party data is king

As tracking tools continue to fade out, your own customer database becomes your most valuable asset. Winning strategies include:

    • Focusing on email list growth.
    • Offering valuable resources or perks for signups.
    • Using privacy-friendly analytics.
    • Being transparent about data usage.

Businesses that respect privacy build trust, and trust builds loyalty.

Customers want authenticity, purpose and personality

Customers are increasingly choosing brands that feel genuine and relatable, cue Monzo and Aldi on LinkedIn or Facebook for relatable social media content that resonates with their respective audiences. That’s something that SME’s can naturally excel at. You can stand out by:

    • Sharing your story.
    • Showing people behind the business.
    • Highlighting customer experiences.
    • Promoting your values.

So, what does this mean for 2026?

Think of 2026 as a chance to sharpen your marketing. In summary, our recommended focus points for SMEs are:

    1. Experiment with AI tools.
    2. Make short videos part of your content mix.
    3. Update your website to answer real customer questions.
    4. Grow your email list ethically.
    5. Lean into your story.

If you’re looking for support with your website, digital strategy or ongoing marketing efforts, our expert team is here to help.

We work with local businesses every day to build strong brands, generate leads and create marketing strategies that genuinely work.

Get in touch, we’d love to support your next steps.

Personal Branding: Why LinkedIn matters for both you and your business

    by Becca

LinkedIn app displayed on a smartphone

Whether you’re a business leader, an ambitious professional, or part of a growing team, how you present yourself online shapes the way people perceive both you and your business. And, when it comes to professional visibility, LinkedIn is the platform that stands out.

With over a billion users globally, it’s where conversations start, opportunities appear, and brands, personal or corporate, are built.

    Why personal branding matters

Your personal brand is your reputation, how people experience you when you’re not directly in the room. It’s built through your voice, values, expertise, and the way you show up online.

    A strong personal brand:

    • Builds trust: People buy from people! Showing your authentic self helps audiences connect with you on a human level.
    • Opens doors: Whether it’s career opportunities, collaborations, or new clients, your brand positions you as someone worth knowing.
    • Drives influence: Consistent, thoughtful content makes you a go-to authority in your space.

    LinkedIn for Individuals

LinkedIn is no longer just an online CV; it’s a stage to demonstrate exactly who you are. Here’s how to maximise it!

    • Show your personality – Write a headline that reflects what you do and who you are.
    • Share insights – Talk about your industry, challenges, and successes. Don’t just post updates, start conversations with your connections.
    • Engage genuinely – Comment thoughtfully, support peers, and build a network based on shared interests, not follower counts.
    • Stay consistent – Regular, authentic activity builds visibility and trust.

    LinkedIn for Businesses

For brands, LinkedIn is one of the most powerful marketing tools available. It’s where you can build credibility, find great talent and nurture relationships. Businesses benefit when their people are active, every link, post or comment extends the reach and humanises the brand.

Empowering your team to build their own personal brands not only helps them but also helps to amplify your company’s voice.

    • Encourage employee advocacy – Let your people be your ambassadors
    • Showcase company culture – Share behind-the-scenes stories and milestones that bring your brand off the screen but into reality.
    • Use thought leadership – Publish articles, insights and case studies to demonstrate expertise.
    • Engage with your audience – Respond, interact, and create genuine connections, not just impressions.

Where Personal and business brands align

When individuals and businesses work together to share authentic stories, the result can be powerful. People start to see your organisation as human, approachable and trustworthy.

Your team’s success strengthens your brand, and your brand’s strength supports your team. It’s a win-win!

Investing in personal branding and using LinkedIn strategically isn’t just about looking good online. It’s about building meaningful connections and long-term credibility.

At Resolution, we help individuals and businesses craft brands that feel authentic, consistent, and memorable across every platform. Because, in the current marketplace, your brand is your reputation, and it deserves to shine!

Brand strategy for growing your business: why it matters and where to start

    by Becca

    3 minute read

    lightbulb

When businesses think about growth, the first instinct is often to “do more marketing”, more social posts, more ads, more emails; however, effective marketing can’t exist without something more fundamental: brand strategy.

A strong brand strategy isn’t just a logo or a colour palette. It’s the shared understanding, internally and externally, of what your business stands for, who it serves and exactly why customers should choose you over your competitors. Without it, your marketing is guesswork, but with it, your marketing becomes a growth engine.

    The foundation of commercial growth

A good brand strategy gives you:

    1. Clarity – you can’t sell confidently if you can’t articulate who you are and what makes you stand out.
    2. Consistency – customers choose what they recognise and trust. Consistent brand messaging and design builds that trust over time.
    3. Direction – every marketing division, whether this be a campaign, website or brochure, becomes easier and more effective when guided by clear brand principles.
    4. Value – competing only on price is a race to the bottom. Brand strategy allows you to compete on meaning, not margin.

So, what does a brand strategy include?

We help businesses to build strategies that typically cover:

    • Purpose and positioning – why you exist and where you sit in the market.
    • Customer insight – who you’re talking to and what they care about.
    • Brand story & messaging – what you say, and exactly how you say it.
    • Visual identity direction – how you look and feel across different areas.
    • Tone of voice – how you sound in marketing and internal communications.

This isn’t abstract ‘planning for planning’s sake’, it’s a structured way to make every penny spent on marketing work harder and more effectively for you and your business.

How brand strategy connects to your marketing

A strategy only matters if it translates into clear action points. Our team takes brand foundations and turns them into live, growth-driving assets through our various marketing services:

    • Brand & identity design – bringing the strategy to life.
    • Website design & development – building sites that not only impress, but convert.
    • Marketing campaigns – social, email, content and digital ads with clear and straightforward objectives.
    • Creative design – brochures, packaging, exhibition materials and much more.
    • Ongoing marketing support – keeping your brand consistent as you continue to grow.

When strategy leads to marketing follows, you get alignment, consistency and measurable impact.

Is it time to revisit your brand?

If you’re feeling like any of the following, you’re likely ready for strategic brand work:

“Our marketing feels random or reactive”

“We’re investing in marketing, but our results are flat”

“Some of our competitors are starting to look and feel the same”

It might be time to build a brand that drives growth. Whether you’re refining an established brand or building from scratch, the right strategy gives you the clarity, consistency and confidence to scale.

If you’re ready to grow on purpose, not just on effort, we’d love to help you build the foundations that make your marketing work harder.

Are business cards really still relevant?

    by Becca

    4 minute read

Man holding a blank business card

As the years roll on and the world becomes increasingly digital, you may wonder if the humble business card still holds any real value. With LinkedIn connections, QR codes, virtual visitor lists and digital contact sharing apps available at our fingertips, it’s a fair question.

But here’s the truth: business cards are far from obsolete. When done well, they remain a powerful marketing asset and a surprisingly effective tool for making memorable first impressions.

So, why do business cards still matter?

    Tangible is memorable

We’re bombarded with digital content every day. Emails get buried, LinkedIn requests are forgotten. A well-designed business card, however, offers something tangible. When you hand someone a quality card, you’re offering a physical reminder of your brand.

    The first impression counts

Your business card often acts as the very first visual representation of you and your brand. A beautifully designed card signals credibility, attention to detail, and investment in your image.

    They spark a conversation

Unlike a digital contact exchange that might feel transactional or impersonal, business cards naturally encourage small talk. From the paper stock to the layout, even a bit of clever design can become a conversation starter. Just think of the now-iconic American Psycho scene, a full-blown showdown over the subtle nuances of typography and texture. (For the record, Patrick Bateman’s card was bone with Silian Rail lettering, a Garamond Classico SC style, of course!)

Offline networking is very much still alive

Imagine you’re at a busy networking event or trade show, juggling conversations and trying to navigate the crowd. Stopping to unlock your phone and scan a QR code can feel clunky in the moment, and let’s face it, many people simply won’t bother. Handing over a business card, on the other hand, is quick, effortless, and almost always welcomed.

    It’s a miniature marketing asset

A business card is far more than just your name and contact details. It’s a micro-version of your brand. With the right design, tone of voice and finishes, it becomes a premium asset, one that reinforces your brand’s values long after the conversation ends.

2 people handing over a business card with a city view

What makes a good business card?

Not all business cards are created equal! The difference between forgettable and effective often comes down to the finer details. We’ve detailed what we think makes a business card truly great:

Clear, simple information: Your name, role, logo, and contact information should be easy to read at a glance. Sometimes less is more!

Strong visual hierarchy: A good design leads the eye naturally, with important details, like your name or company, given priority.

Quality materials: Thicker cardstock, matte or soft-touch finishes, and premium printing techniques instantly elevate the perceived value of your brand.

Creative but functional design: Unique shapes, bold colour schemes, or clever copy can help you stand out, as long as the card is still easy to use and store.

Tactile finishes: Techniques like embossing, foil stamping, and spot UV add interest and sophistication that digital design simply can’t replicate.

Something memorable: Whether it’s a bold design choice, a witty tagline, or an unexpected layout, your card should give people a reason to take a second look.

Are they right for every business?

Not necessarily, and that’s ok! If you run a fully remote digital consultancy with zero in-person client contact, business cards may not be a top priority. But for the majority of businesses, especially those in creative, professional, and service industries, having a few business cards on hand is still smart marketing.

So, are business cards still relevant? Our conclusion is yes, when they’re done right!

They’re not just a formality, but an opportunity to make a lasting impression, build credibility, and extend your brand into the physical world.

If you’re ready to refresh your business card or explore new print ideas that align with your brand, we’re here to help! Contact us today to find out more about our design and print services.

A Look Back at Social Media and the Evolution of Digital Marketing

    by Becca

    5 minute read

Social media tabs on a mobile phone

Few forces in this world have had as profound an impact as social media. What began as a space for casual connections with school friends has transformed into a global marketplace, branding platform, and real-time customer service channel. This is possibly not what Mark Zuckerberg had in mind when he helped to create Facebook!

As we go further into 2025, and with debates over TikTok’s future still playing out in U.S courts, we thought it would be fitting to reflect on how far we’ve come and what it means for businesses today.

    The Early Days

Long before Instagram and Facebook dominated our phone screens, early digital communities like bulletin board systems (BBS) and forums set the groundwork. These platforms were primitive by today’s standards, but provided the very first taste of online interaction and the limits to which it could go.

Then came MySpace, founded in 2003. It was a true game changer that let users express themselves with music, backgrounds, and personality. Internet personas were born, but for brands, however, the focus was very much still on static websites and email marketing.

Facebook, Twitter and the Democratisation of Brand Voice

When Facebook opened its doors (virtually) to the public in 2006, it marked the beginning of a new era. Suddenly there were more ways to interact with each other (remember poking your friends?!) and with this, brands had the opportunity to engage in two-way conversations with customers. Twitter soon followed, offering real-time interaction and ushering in the new age of “always-on” marketing.

Digital marketing began to shift from push-based advertising to content-driven strategies. Businesses that adapted quickly saw success by building communities and creating content that resonated.

Forget the Industrial Revolution, here comes the Visual Revolution!

As broadband and smartphones sat together in harmony, visual content began to take centre stage. Platforms like Instagram, which launched 15 years ago in 2010, Pinterest and YouTube put storytelling through imagery and video at the forefront.

Marketing strategies evolved to include influencer partnerships, brand storytelling, and aspirational content. Consumers no longer just bought a product; they were buying into an entire lifestyle package.

    The Rise of the Algorithm

By the mid-2010s, organic reach began to decline as platforms introduced algorithmic feeds (which is every digital marketer’s worst enemy). While this made content more relevant to the individual user, it posed a challenge for brands. Introducing… paid socials.

Suddenly, businesses had access to hyper-targeted audiences. This ushered in the age of data-driven marketing, where A/B testing, customer personas, and ROI metrics became vital to success.

TikTok, Authenticity and the Creator Economy

Fast forward to today, and TikTok has redefined what it means to be creative and authentic online. With short-form video dominating, the focus has shifted from polished perfection to real, relatable content.

The creator economy has exploded, and continues to do so, giving rise to micro-influencers, UGC (user-generated content), EGC (employee-generated content) and community-first campaigns. Brands that succeed now are those that can be agile, authentic, and willing to take part in cultural moments.

So, where do we go now?

We see several key trends continuing to shape digital marketing:

    • AI & Automation – Tools powered by AI are streamlining everything from content creation to customer service.
    • Privacy & Trust – With tighter data regulations and growing consumer awareness, transparency is a non-negotiable.
    • Social Commerce – The line between content and commerce continues to blur with integrated shopping experiences.
    • Brand Purpose – Audiences increasingly expect brands to stand for something more than just profit.

We’ve seen firsthand how digital marketing has evolved, and continues to evolve, and how overwhelming it can feel to keep up. However, the core meaning remains: success still comes down to understanding your audience and delivering meaningful, authentic experiences.

Digital platforms will continue to evolve, algorithms will inevitably shift, but brands that listen, adapt, and create with purpose will always find their place.

If you’re ready to future-proof your digital marketing strategy, we’re here to help. Get in touch today!

Despite predictions of its decline, email remains a powerhouse. According to recent data, global email users are expected to reach over 4.7 billion in 2025. Engagement rates for personalised, segmented campaigns continue to outperform many newer channels. And for ROI? Email marketing still reigns supreme.

So yes, email marketing is not only relevant, it’s essential.

    Why It Still Works

    Direct and Personal

Email offers a direct line to your audience, unlike the ever-crowded noise of social media feeds. With thoughtful segmentation, businesses can deliver timely, relevant content that feels personalised, not spammy.

    Owned Audience

Social media platforms can change their algorithm overnight. With email, you can own your list. The stability is critical for long-term growth and brand consistency/engagement.

    Automation & AI Integration

Tools are allowing for smarter automations and AI-driven results. We help our clients to implement intelligent workflows that drive conversions and nurture leads, without lifting a finger!

    Email Marketing at Resolution

Our team doesn’t just ‘do email’. We create strategic, branded campaigns that align with your business goals and integrate seamlessly with your broader marketing plan.
