Designing a WW1 exhibition

The Unity & Loyalty Exhibition marks the 100th anniversary of Chippenham’s WW1 Red Cross Hospital, which had 2 wards, Unity & Loyalty, located in the Town Hall & Yelde Hall respectively. The fascinating free exhibition, based in the Yelde Hall, opened in November 2015 and runs until April 2016.

We were delighted to be commissioned to design and produce the exhibition for Chippenham Town Council and are even more delighted that the exhibition has been such a success.

Unity & Loyalty

Melissa Barnett, the Curator at Chippenham Museum & Heritage Centre commented…

“I would like to thank the team at Resolution Design for their excellent assistance with our ‘Unity and Loyalty’ exhibition which is currently on display in the town’s Yelde Hall. The brief was difficult. The listed hall is ancient with quirky corners and regulations that mean attachments could not be made to the walls. Our requirements were unusual. We wished to stage a reconstruction of a WW1 hospital complete with beds and life size models. We wanted a lot of information and pictures on show without cluttering the display. The budget was of course also limited and the time frame fairly tight.

Resolution Design delivered an innovative, relevant and visually pleasing exhibition on time and in budget. Throughout the process the staff were professional, focussed and extremely helpful; guiding and advising us gently in the right direction and dealing with our queries and corrections with the utmost patience.

The finished exhibition is a total delight, the public love it and has even been featured on BBC Points West. I would recommend Resolution Design highly and I am looking forward to working with them again in the future.”

For more information about the exhibition please see the story in the Gazette & Herald. The exhibition is open Monday – Saturday,  11am – 3pm, until April 30th.
