Bringing ancient landscapes to life
2 minute read
We’re beyond thrilled to have collaborated with the Stonehenge & Avebury World Heritage Site Trust on their newly redesigned and redeveloped website. A project that perfectly blends heritage, storytelling and modern web design.
Understanding the challenge
The Stonehenge & Avebury WHS isn’t just a collection of iconic monuments; it’s a living landscape steeped in thousands of years of history. Our goal was to create a refreshed digital space that reflects the significance of the sites, while making information, resources, and stories accessible to everyone, from visitors and local communities to educators.
How we approached the redesign
By understanding the needs of the Trust, their audience and visitors, we focused on three key pillars:
- Clarity & usability: We designed an intuitive navigation structure so users can find what they need quickly, whether they’re exploring on desktop or mobile.
- Immersive storytelling: Through high-quality photography and multimedia content, we aimed to bring the landscape alive for online visitors.
- Future proofing: The new site is built to grow with the Trust, making it easier to add resources, update events, and engage with the community over time.

Seeing the vision come to life
Watching the website evolve from concept to launch has been incredibly rewarding. It’s not just about creating a visually appealing site, it’s about enabling the Trust to share the story of Stonehenge and Avebury in a way that’s engaging, educational and accessible.
We’re proud to have played a part in helping these World Heritage Sites reach audiences, new and old, in a modern, interactive way, and we hope visitors enjoy exploring them as much as we enjoyed designing and building them!
